Our History

Since 1890, Raymer Company has been a leader in the water well industry. Founded by F.E. Raymer, the company is now operated by his great grandsons, the fourth generation of family-run operations. Throughout the history of the company, the latest and most modern types of equipment have been utilized for well construction and service. The company has been a pioneer in rotary drilling in the state of Michigan, obtaining the first rotary drilling rig in 1936. The company began using the reverse circulation rotary drilling method in 1979 for the installation of large-diameter high capacity wells. This proved to be an extremely more efficient method of installation and also produces a more efficient well than previously used methods. The Raymer Company has utilized hydraulic truck-mounted cranes for pump service since the 1960's. This type of equipment allows greater access to the well and reduces the overall time spent on the job.

Originally located on Taylor Street on Grand Rapids' northeast side, Raymer Company had two other locations on the northwest side of Grand Rapids. Then Raymer consolidated all of these locations into their present single campus in just off of I-96 in Marne, MI. This location allows for east access to customers located around the Grand Rapids metro area and other locations around the state. It is this progressive philosophy that has propelled the Raymer Company to the forefront of the water well industry and prepared us to better serve you, now and into the future.
